Mexican tries Chipotle

Since the social media platform Vine was a thing — I always heard of a place called “Chipotle”. I remember everyone and their mother knew about this Mexican fast food chain, and they swore that this place was a Nirvana in terms of Mexican food. Not to mention the famous Vine of that one little boy who was declaring his love for chipotle — everywhere I turned, I saw this fast food chain.

Chipotle wasn’t available in my small border town of Nogales, Arizona. The nearest was Tucson — but honestly? If I was making a trip to Tucson with my family, we were going to be going somewhere nicer than that. I’m not trying to throw any shade at the establishment — but if I wanted some good Mexican food, my town or crossing the border to Mexico was the go to place.

Since coming to UA, I found myself living near a Chipotle that was directly on university boulevard. Even so, the place caught my attention — but never enough to the point where I would actually go in and purchase their food. There was also the factor that a horrible girl I knew from high school apparently worked there, and I didn’t want to risk having my food spat on. But most importantly — I just didn’t want to see her awful persona there, it would ruin my mood.

It wasn’t until yesterday was I able to have the opportunity of trying Chipotle for the first time. I’ve been craving some burritos and compared to all these places near me, it was the cheapest I could get. I prepared it to the best of my ability — even going out of my comfort zone and adding in fried rice and beans which I’m usually not keen with on my burritos. But alas, I tried it — and it’s eh.

All I’m saying is that — it’s nowhere NEAR the hype I’ve seen for all these years. I’ve tried better burritos by far in my lifetime.

Alas, my rating for chipotle based on this burrito alone was a solid 6/10.
